JASON SORBIE

CREATIVE DIRECTOR

With more than 25 years of experience spanning creative direction, motion design, broadcast, and entertainment, Jason Sorbie brings a wealth of creative expertise and a collaborative, ideas-first approach to his new role as Creative Director at JAXX.

His award-winning body of work includes the documentary Red Girl Rising, the Webby and Cassie Award-winning IKEA Quick & Easy series, and major Rogers and PepsiCo live events and conferences. His work has earned 13 Telly Awards, the Rogers Business Excellence Award, and the Ted Rogers CEO Award.

Jason’s career began in design, before evolving into motion design and, eventually, writing, producing, and directing. His journey has been shaped by a willingness to embrace new opportunities and push creative ideas further.

At Global Television, Jason began creating motion design for news programming and eventually expanded into brand integrations across news and lifestyle networks. That opportunity opened the door to writing, producing, and directing commercials, allowing him to build on his design foundation and grow into a broader creative leadership role.

JAXX’s integrated approach to creative production and post-production offers an exciting opportunity for Jason to reconnect with his passion for broadcast while contributing his experience across design, animation, commercials, and television.

“Jason has that rare ability to see the bigger creative picture while never losing sight of the people and craft behind it.  He leads with ideas first, curiosity and collaboration and brings an energy that makes you want to push the work further.  I’m incredibly excited to have him join JAXX and help shape our creative vision next.”, says CEO and Executive Producer, Neishaw Ali

For Jason, great creative work has always been about more than the idea itself. It is about the people who bring it to life, the collaboration that strengthens it, and the willingness to keep learning along the way. What began in graphic design grew into a career spanning motion design, broadcast, commercial production, and creative direction, with each chapter expanding his perspective on how great ideas come to life. At JAXX, Jason looks forward to continuing to champion bold creative thinking, foster collaboration, and bring stories to life alongside the talented teams that make them possible.

“I’m incredibly excited to join SPIN and JAXX and work alongside such an extraordinary group of artists and makers. At a time when the creative landscape is evolving so quickly, there’s a real opportunity to combine great ideas, exceptional craft and emerging technology in new ways. I’m excited about what we can build together and to create work that’s ambitious, unexpected and memorable.”, says Jason Sorbie.
