JAXX recently worked with creative consultancy Blackjet to help launch the winter festivities at The Well, the mega-project touted as Toronto’s most ambitious mixed-use development. JAXX explored how to make some of the new holiday features on offer a little more magical, ultimately using a collage treatment of 2D imagery mixed with festive 3D elements, culminating in a one-off Holiday Poster.
Queen of the Castle follows Canadian socialite Ann Kaplan Mulholland and her husband Dr. Stephen Mulholland as they take on the ambitious task of turning their newly acquired medieval castle in the heart of Kent, U.K. into a luxurious world-class destination. With $40 million of their own money on the line, they face the daunting task of navigating construction, staffing, local skepticism, and demanding guests as old tradition meets modern chaos.

The Design Team at Jaxx is passionate about film and has a particular obsession with high-end TV and movie title sequences! When not creating kick-ass title sequences for clients, the team works on spec pieces to keep our creative juices flowing.
In this piece, Craig was tasked with designing a title sequence for a fictional film called “The Brothers Edge.” The synopsis given to Craig was: A part-time inventor wishes to leave the city and devote more time to his wife, daughter, and his unusual inventions. So, when his brother passes away, leaving behind a cottage in the mountains, the opportunity allows his family to move to a peaceful and secluded home that seemingly gives the inventor everything he wants. But when the family’s only contact with the outside world is a weekly trip to a local town for supplies, the isolation and solitude lead to things taking a turn for the worse.
In the spec piece, Craig and the team have crafted an opening that gives the audience a sense of the tone of the film and hints at the tense and layered story to follow. With small clues throughout the prologue, the opening sets the scene and piques the viewer’s interest for what’s to follow in “The Brothers Edge.”
“Hands together for our friends at Entertainment One! Billionaire Murders is now the #1 most-watched Canadian series launch on Crave. We’re thrilled to have been a part of this fascinating project.”
